Happy Holidays everyone! I am so excited to share this post with you. I have partnered up with Literary Book Gifts and wanted to share a gift guide for anyone interested in growing in their walk with the Lord, organization, or literature! I have included the links to each gift as well as a Q & A with Melissa Chan, the designer of bookish things at . Make sure to use the code ChristianPrepster20 at to receive a 20% discount off of your order! No expiry!
1// This adorable pencil case (or whatever little items you wanna hold in this bag) is amazing. It’s part of Jess Conte’s new company, Harper and Willow, and is so simple yet adorable!
2// Okay, this is a tote from Literary Book Gifts! They have the cutest stuff and so many different book options for the tote. Just find the bag you want and search until you find your favorite classic book! It’s perfect!
3// I have talked about these Bibles in like every post but they are really that great! I have the She Reads Truth Bible in the Blue Leather but have heard amazing things about the hardback ones as well. It will forever be my favorite Bible!
4// I love this devotional and actually went through it last year and decided to pick it up again last week. The Sermon on the Mount is one of those passages that I feel like people have read a million and one times and tends to fly past it, but the design and detail this devotional gives makes it impossible to just fly through it.
5// Yet another adorable Harper and Willow product. This Sermon Notes notebook is such a wonderful idea and will definitely be the next notebook I buy when my current one is full!
6&7// These shirts are also from Literary Book Gifts and there are so many options for these it is insane. Both men’s and women’s styles are available for almost every classical book under the sun.
8// I LOVE THIS ONE. When I bought my Bible a year ago, I wanted to keep it as nice as possible while writing in every square inch of it. I went on a hunt to find a Bible cover that was not too childish but also not boring. It has lasted me this long and is in WONDERFUL shape.
* Q&A with designer and business owner, Melissa Chan!*
Q: When did you decide to start your business and how was the process of starting your own business?
A: Many of the ideas for the designs and the store, in general, had been brewing in my head for long before, but I technically launched the website earlier this year. It’s been a lot of fun although I thought it would be a lot more about design and less about technical website details.
Q: What’s the mission of your company and why?
A: I hope that some of the designs can inspire others to read and share their favorite books with others. This leads me to the answer of the next question…
Q: why did you choose to focus on literature influenced projects?
A: Books are a great way to spend your time. The appreciation, sharing, and discussion of books is another thing entirely. It’s hard to imagine a reading an obscure novel and then having it be brought up in a discussion at some point in the near future. But wearing that novel or author on a shirt brings up the possibility that someone will make a comment on your shirt and thus the discussion begins.
Q: what’s been your favorite experience with starting your own business?
A: I definitely love talking and collaborating with bloggers. I do everything else alone so it’s a great experience getting to work with other like-minded people.
Q: Favorite way to spend your free time?
A: When I’m just trying to relax, I enjoy baking and listening to audiobooks at the same time. I love that audiobooks are hands-free and I can just kind of tune out in the kitchen and have someone read to me while I whip bake cakes and other treats.
Q: favorite snack food?
A: I love scrambled eggs on toast!
Q: Favorite book and why?
A: Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger is one of my top reads. I’m not sure why exactly, probably something about the age and time during my life that I read it, and that being important to me.
Q: What’s your favorite TV show?
A: This is a difficult question since so many TV shows tend to come and go. Recently I really enjoyed the first session of This Is Us, and I’m a big fan of some of the earlier seasons of Grey’s Anatomy as well
