I am a huge fan of beginnings. I love a fresh start every once and a while. My most favorite time of year is the end of a trimester or semester. I love the blank slate of classes and schedules.
I realized that I have this nice pretty section on my blog for school posts and haven’t sat down and added any content to it. SO here you go! With the start of a new trimester for me and many other students… here are some of my tips and tricks to making the most of your fresh starts.
Keep in mind, these things can help any transition. Whether a new trimester, new job, or just a new day. There is beauty in beginnings and chances, as you have read is past posts…change is slowing growing on me. Emphasis on SLOWLY (:D)
Create a morning routine//
This is huge for me. We have all heard that morning are a very important part of the day and for some reason, I just kept allowing myself to roll out of bed and hop in my car. But one week I just decided to start making a list of things I want to do daily before school. I encourage you all to do the same. Here is my rough list of what I like to call my “Dailies”
6:15 Wake up and grab a glass of water
6:20-35ish Quiet time with my favorite Christmas candle
6:40-7:00 Get dressed and ready for school
7:00-7:15 Eat breakfast, grab lunch, and head out of the house
As you can all see, my mornings aren’t very full…but I know that it only takes me about 10 minutes to get ready, so if my Quiet Time is super fruitful…I’m okay adding a few minutes. Like I said, I encourage you to figure out how to create a morning you look forward to instead of a rushed one.
Prepare In Advance//
If a fresh start is just around the corner, I do everything I can in advance to ensure the best start possible. For me, in high school, it looks like making my lunch the night before, packing my bags, charging my computer, sometimes choosing my outfits, and getting my Quite Time space all comfy and cozy.
With a new trimester, I really wanted this to feel like a brand new start. So I cleaned my backpack and opened up some new notebooks and folders. There is just something about new school supplies that excite me. I restocked my energy bag of miscellaneous items (chapstick, contacts, perfume…you know, the necessities).
I have also found that a nice clean room and workspace is a great way to declutter your mind. I know it sounds weird but for some odd reason, when my room is clean… I just feel like I can do anything haha.
I bet you all know by now that I am a huge fan of self-reflection. Being able to sit down and reflect on yourself, the past, and how you can fix some problems you find, is a wonderful gift.
The best way to do this is to pray. Pray for the Lord for being to light the areas in your life where you need more of him. Praise him for his never-ending faithfulness and ask him for strength during this next chapter.
Here is a great list of questions to get you into the “self-reflection mindset”. You can pick and choose from this list as you please!
The best tip I have for people approaching a new beginning is to start fresh with more of a focus on Christ. You can never get enough of Jesus and what better way to start fresh than to have a nice dose if Jesus with you at all times.
XOXO, The Christan Prepster
