Dear Work of Art

Dear Work of Art,

I know sometimes you don’t feel like a masterpiece. Some days you just roll out of bed and make do with what you’ve got that day. You quickly peak in the mirror and decided you must leave because there is nothing else you can do.

I know this feeling, the feeling of, “I am not good enough… I can’t even do a ponytail correctly this morning.” Then we see this,

“For we are God’s masterpiece  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10

Why is it so hard for us to believe this? Why can’t we just see the beautiful children our Heavenly father delights in, every time we look in the mirror?

I know sometimes we can’t see it but I need you to do something for me. I need you to try. Give yourself grace and realize that you’re perfect just the way you are.

God didn’t say you were His masterpiece just to say it… He actually meant it. He designed every little part of you and He is proud of you.

When he sees your messy hair and sleepy face, he smiles. When he sees you trying to juggle all of your responsibilities, he reminds you that he is always here for you.

You are his creation and He is proud to call you his.

So work of art, I’m sorry if you can’t see that sometimes, but I’ll always be here to remind you of that and so will the master artist.

XOXO, The Christian Prepster
