Finding Peace

Who else is ready for Spring Break? It’s like a finish line. I am running, face sweaty, feet losing feeling, breath slowly dying, and each step I take brings me closer to the finish line.

If you have ever done track, the feeling of finishing a race is magnificent. No matter the distance, the finish line always acts as a relief. The last ten steps of any race are the hardest. In life, I’m nearing those steps. The last few days before our break. The last few breaths before I can breathe easy.

In these times, I lean on God to finish the race for me. The past few days have been so stressful. However, God has got my day in his hands. This morning I watched this great video and preceded to meditate on these verses.

 Psalm 23 (NIV)
A psalm of David.
1The Lordis my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
When the waves begin to get bigger and the wind blows harder I will find my peace in the Prince of Peace, the Great I Am.
My days are stressful but my days have also been made by the creator and I know that He works all this for the good of those who love him (and boy do I love Him!!!) God gives us challenges so that we lean on him even more. All he wants to for you to find joy, peace, and love in your heavenly father, take refuge in his mighty arms and rest in his glory.
Over the course of this next week, when the stress level rises, I pray that you will refer back to Psalm 23 and realize that our battle here is not against the stressful situations but against the devil, and lucky for us, God has already conquered him.
XOXO, The Christian Prepster
