Have Courage and Be Kind

This week is my Spring Break and let’s just say, it was greatly anticipated! On Friday, my parents took me on a “date” to see Disney’s new take on an old classic, Cinderella. The theme of Cinderella was, “Have courage and be kind.” I am proud to say that, that quote is many people’s motos now!

In addition to a week filled with relaxation, I have been reading Esther. (Sorry Cinderella, Esther May have won the “courage and kindness” competition!)

(Here is a “spark notes” version of Esther, I encourage you to read all of Eshter, it’s a great book!)

After Esther was chosen to become queen, she found out that her people were being killed by her king and that she needed to, despite all risks, approach the king and plead for her people.

Esther’s cousin, Mordecai encouraged her by saying, my all time favorite verse,

“Perhaps this is the moment for which you were created”- Esther 4:14

Esther decides to approach her king and ends up saving her people! Esther could have easily sat back and watched her people die, all out of fear of the king or could have been powered by anger and have been rude to the king. Esther new that the only way she could save her people was to Have Courage and Be Kind.

My encouragement for you is to, have courage and be kind, and remember to start each day as if it’s the day that you were created for!

XOXO, The Christian Prepster

The story of Esther has been one that I have loved for years. I am so glad it is speaking to you. I think as I read this that you are just like those teens you are reading about that are changing the world with a radical faith….you dont just read those stories you are that witness! Your courage, your kindness, your faith!!!
